WellnessCore Wellness Score System
Documentation

This page explains how Wellness Core calculates the Wellness Score (0–10) from onboarding answers and how it updates during use.

Overview

Wellness Core calculates a Wellness Score on a 0–10 scale based on user-provided answers from the onboarding questionnaire. The overall score is the average of five category scores: Rest, Mind, Body, Self‑Care, and Nutrition.

Each category score is kept within 0–10 and shown rounded to one decimal place. The score is designed for motivation and habit-building—not as medical advice.

Rest Score

Sleep duration and habits (bedtime/wake time), phone use before bed, sleep disruptors, and reported energy level.

Mind Score

Stress frequency and type, focus difficulty, current mood, work environment, and habits that may affect mental recovery.

Body Score

Lifestyle and activity level, exercise frequency, physical discomfort areas, energy level, sleep duration, and stress level.

Self‑Care Score

Skin and hair concerns (e.g., dryness, acne, dandruff), plus skin/hair type information to tailor routine suggestions.

Nutrition Score

Hydration (water intake), dietary pattern, late‑night snacking frequency, eating habits (e.g., skipping meals), and BMI (from height/weight).

How the score is calculated

1) Onboarding questionnaire sets the starting point

Each category starts from a neutral baseline and is adjusted based on your answers. For example, getting very short sleep, using a phone right before bed, or reporting frequent sleep disruptions will typically lower the Rest Score.

2) Category factors (high level)

Rest: Sleep duration, bedtime timing, phone use before bed, and reported energy.

Mind: Stress frequency, focus difficulty, and mood (with additional context such as work environment).

Body: Sedentary vs active lifestyle, exercise frequency, discomfort areas, energy, and stress.

Self‑Care: Skin and hair concerns and types (scores typically decrease when more concerns are reported).

Nutrition: Water intake, dietary pattern, late‑night snacking, eating habits, and BMI.

3) Ongoing updates during app usage

After onboarding, the score can change as you use the app. Each ritual belongs to one category. Completing rituals typically increases the corresponding category score by a small amount. When any category changes, the overall Wellness Score is recalculated as the average of all five categories.

The app can keep a history of score changes (with time, activity name, and change amount) so a user can review what affected their score.

All calculations are performed locally on the user’s device using user-provided answers.

Scores are stored in the user’s personal profile.

No health data is shared with third parties for the purpose of calculating the score.
